Teams with a recent postseason meeting will cross paths for the first time this regular season. The Los Angeles Clippers (3-4; 3-4-0 ATS) are the road team for round one, and the Dallas Mavericks (6-2; 4-4-0 ATS) will start a road trip after this game. As the records indicate, American Airlines Center will be treated to two clubs that have gotten off to contrasting starts. Friday's superstar-riddled tipoff is slated for 8:30 p.m. EDT. How will things unfold?

The big news for Los Angeles was trading for James Harden on October 31. Well, his first two games with the club ended with a pair of losses in New York. The Clippers failed to reach 100 points in both contests. Paul George led the team in scoring (again) on Wednesday and will pace an offense that's 14th in offensive rating. Los Angeles is the third-most accurate team on midrange shots and seventh when it comes to three-pointers. The past two games were rough and highlighted the Clippers' turnover problem (27th in turnover percentage). Los Angeles should also shoot better than 75.0% from the free throw line. Will they fix things in Texas?

On the other end of the floor, the Clippers are sixth in defensive rating. They force turnovers at the second-highest rate in the NBA. Los Angeles' defense also has the seventh-best effective field goal percentage against, helped a lot by holding foes to 59.1% at the rim. Defensive rebounding is a significant issue that keeps the Clippers defending longer than they need to. Still, even adding James Harden hasn't hasn't had adverse effects on their defense after two battles.

Injuries: Mason Plumlee: Out

Brandon Boston Jr.: Out
