The Los Angeles Clippers and the Boston Celtics duke it out at the TD Garden on Thursday night.
The Los Angeles Clippers have been in red-hot form as they’ve won seven of their last nine games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after routing the Raptors in a 124-113 road win on Tuesday. Ivica Zubac and Paul George led the team in scoring with 23 points each, Norman Powell added 22 points while Reggie Jackson chipped in with 20 points on nine of 15 shooting. As a team, the Clippers shot 48 percent from the field and 15 of 38 from the 3-point line as they started to take control of the contest in the second quarter, before they exploded for 37 points in the third quarter to lead by as many as 23 points before they took their foot off the gas.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have lost five of their last nine games overall, but they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after blowing past the Rockets in a 126-102 home win on Tuesday. Jaylen Brown led the team with 39 points on 14 of 26 shooting, Jayson Tatum added 38 points with eight rebounds and four assists while Robert Williams chipped in with 11 points and 15 rebounds off the bench. As a team, the Celtics shot 47 percent from the field and 20 of 56 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Rockets in a tight contest, until the third quarter where the Celtics caught fire and never looked back.
