Los Angeles Chargers (8-6) vs. Indianapolis Colts (4-9-1)

Week 16 of the 2022 NFL season wraps up with Monday Night Football from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, where the Los Angeles Chargers square off against the Indianapolis Colts. These two AFC foes meet for the first time since 2019 when the Chargers beat the Colts 30-24 as 6-point home favorites.

Los Angeles is a 4.5-point road fave this time around. Indianapolis sits at +185 moneyline odds, while the totals are listed at 46.0 points.

The Los Angeles Chargers (8-6; 8-5-1 ATS) are coming off a huge 17-14 victory over the Tennessee Titans in Week 15. The Chargers outgained the Titans 365-284 in total yards and escaped with a victory thanks to Cameron Dicker’s 43-yard field goal with four seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Tennessee tied the game at 14-14 with 48 seconds left on the clock, but Justin Herbert completed a 35-yard pass to Mike Williams to get the Chargers into field-goal range.

“We have practiced two-minute drives all of the time in practice and all throughout camp. We know that we have special receivers, a great offensive line blocking and Mike Williams goes and makes the plays,” Herbert said. “To be able to go through that and deal with as much adversity as we did tod ay and not be able to score points and turnovers and things like that, for those guys to hang tough, believe in the defense and believe in each other, it was really good to see for us.”

Herbert went 28-of-42 for 313 yards and a couple of interceptions against the Titans. He didn’t throw a touchdown for the third time in 46 career games. Keenan Allen had eight receptions for 86 yards, while Mike Williams posted four catches for 67 yards. Running backs Austin Ekeler and Joshua Kelly scored a TD apiece, combining for 82 rushing yards on 22 carries.

The Chargers have won three of their last four contests including the previous two. They’ve covered just once in that four-game stretch along with a push against the Titans. Herbert has thrown for 1,289 yards, five touchdowns, and a couple of picks over the last four weeks. He’s surpassed a 300-yard mark in three straight outings.
