Los Angeles Angels vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 8-28-2022

The Los Angeles Angels (54-73, 58-68 RL, 52-62-12 O/U) battle the Toronto Blue Jays (68-57, 54-70 RL, 64-59-1 O/U) as the AL foes conclude a three-game series on Sunday afternoon. The Angels will give the nod to Tucker Davidson eyeing his third win. The Blue Jays reply with Ross Stripling, targeting his second consecutive win. The Blue Jays lead the season series 4-2.

Tucker Davidson will make his eighth outing of the season. Davidson was stellar last time out, limiting the Rays to only two runs in five innings, but was hit with the loss to fall to 2-4. The young left-hander spent the first half of the year with the Braves and has allowed 10 runs in 15 innings in his three outings with the Angels. His numbers on the season are poor, logging a 6.75 ERA and a 1.75 WHIP to go with a 2-4 record in 30.1 innings.

The halos continue to stumble in what’s been another disappointing season. They lost two of three in Detroit and followed by an ugly series in Tampa Bay where they were swept. LA is an abysmal 2-8 in their last ten games overall. They rebounded from a six-game slide with a victory on Friday.

Mike Trout did not take long to find a groove after missing an extended perio d due to his back. The 31-year-old star has five RBIs in his last four games and features a .917 OPS this month. Trout has 27 big flies with 56 RBIs and a .960 OPS on the year. Trout is 5 for 22 with four RBIs against the Blue Jays.

The Angels are scoring an average of 3.80 runs per game, ranking them 25th overall. The pitching staff has logged a 3.85 team ERA, placing them 12th in the big leagues.
