The Tampa Bays (65-55) will host the Los Angeles Angels (52-69) on Monday in the first contest of a four-game series. The Rays are on a two-game winning streak after beating the Royals 5-2 on Saturday and 3-2 on Sunday. The Angels dropped their last two games 4-3 and 4-0 on the road against the Tigers.
The Angels took two out of three games from the Rays in Anaheim when these teams met back in May.
The Angels lost for the fifth time in six games, being shut out by the Tigers on Sunday as a -190 favorite. Los Angeles' season has been a trainwreck, and they have been the least profitable team in baseball, according to covers.com. As poor as the Angels have performed this year, on Sunday, they seemed to have a substantial advantage on the mound with Shohei Ohtani, pitching against Eduardo Rodriguez, who had not pitched for the Tigers since May 18. The Angels were shut down when it mattered most, going 0 for 8 with runners in scoring position and leaving 10 men on base. On the mound, Ohtani allowed five hits, four walks, and three runs in four innings before exiting the game with a stomach virus.

Former Atlanta Brave Tucker Davidson will start for the Angels on Monday. In six games this season (four with Atlanta, two with Los Angeles), Davidson is 2-3 with a 6.75 ERA. The 26-year-old left-hander picked up a win last Sunday, allowing just four hits and two runs in six innings against the Twins.
