Los Angeles Angels vs. Minnesota Twins Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 9-24-2022

The Los Angeles Angels continue their three-game series in Minnesota on Saturday against the Twins. The Angels have been eliminated from playoff competition and are now just playing out the spring before an expected busy offseason. The Twins are not officially eliminated but they are out of the AL Central hunt for all intents and purposes down 10 games with just 12 to play. The pitching matchup for Saturday will be lefty Reid Detmers (6-5, 3.71) of the Angels taking on righty Joe Ryan (12-8, 3.61) of the Twins. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10pm EST.

Another lost season for the 'other' team billed from Los Angeles is nearly complete as the Angels continue a weekend series in Minnesota. The Angels will undoubtedly have a busy offseason as they try to get over the hump and get back to the playoffs in the hopes of winning their first World Series since 2002. On Friday night against the Twins, Shohei Ohtani struggled with his control but got through five innings while walking a season-high six batters and striking seven. Taylor Ward hit two home runs as the Angels picked up the win over the struggling Twins.

The Angels final 12 games will mostly be about adding to numbers for the majority of the lineup and pitching staff. The superstar duo of Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani have both performed up to their lofty standards this season and it will be interesting to see if this is indeed the final 12 games the duo will play together. On the mound on Saturday will be Reid Detmers. Detmers is 2-2 in his last five games with a 4.68 ERA.
