Los Angeles Angels (14-12) vs. Milwaukee Brewers (16-9)

The MLB betting action continues Saturday, April 29, 2023, with the Los Angeles Angels squaring off against the Milwaukee Brewers in the interleague showdown at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the first pitch is set for 7:10 PM ET.

The Angels and Brewers lock horns in the second of a three-game series, and Friday’s opener has been excluded from the analysis. Milwaukee is a -160 moneyline fave with a total of 8.5 runs, so let’s take a closer look.

The Los Angeles Angels are coming off a seven-game homestand. They’ve won two out of three games against the Kansas City Royals and three out of four versus the Oakland Athletics. The Halos entered the Brewers series searching for their fourth consecutive victory.

Los Angeles has scored a thumping 34 runs across a four-game set against the lowly A’s. Now, the Angels are tallying 5.35 runs per contest (5th in the majors) on a .253/.336/.425 slash line (.245/.319/.402 league average). On the other side of the ball, they are yielding 4.65 runs per game (17th) while carrying a 4.06 ERA (18th) and 1.28 WHIP (tie d-13th).

Reid Detmers will take the hill Saturday in Milwaukee, and the 23-year-old left-hander is 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 25/7 K/BB ratio in four starts (21.2 innings pitched) this season. He’s allowed exactly two earned runs in three of his previous four showings. Last Sunday, Detmers pitched 5.2 innings of a two-run ball in a no-decision against the Royals, allowing seven hits and striking out six.
