Los Angeles was swept by Miami at home in interleague play after getting blanked Sunday afternoon and hope to get back on track here. The Angels entered Monday 28-26 on the season and stood fourth in the AL West, six games behind the Rangers for the top spot in the division. On Sunday, Los Angeles finished with five hits with no player having more than one but failed to come up with the timely hits they needed in the contest. The Angels went zero for seven with runners in scoring position and left 11 runners on base in the contest. Patrick Sandoval (3-4) took the loss on the mound as he threw six innings, allowing two runs on eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts, before handing things off to the bullpen.

Tyler Anderson is on the hill for the Angels as he records his 10th start of the season after coming over from the Dodgers in the offseason. He is 2-0 with a 4.81 ERA, a 1.562 WHI P, 23 walks and 30 strikeouts over 48.2 innings of work this season. Anderson earned the win in his last start, which came Wednesday at home against the Red Sox. He threw six innings, allowing one run on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts in a game the Angels went on to win 7-3. In his last three starts, Anderson has a 1-0 record, a 3.71 ERA, a 1.41 WHIP, seven walks and six strikeouts over 17 innings of work. Anderson makes his third career start against the White Sox in this contest. He has no record, a 6.52 ERA, a 1.345 WHIP, four walks and six strikeouts over 9.2 innings of work against them. Anderson didn’t factor in the decision in his lone start, which came with the Dodgers on June 9, 2022. He threw three innings, allowing four runs on four hits with three walks and two strikeouts in a game the Dodgers eventually won by an 11-9 score.
