Despite the unprecedented turnover of Division-I men’s college basketball head coaches – approximately two-thirds of all teams have changed coaches at least once in the last five years – many programs have been led by the same coach for decades.
Tom Izzo, in his 28th season as Michigan State head coach, is the longest-tenured head coach in college basketball but is still far behind the longest-tenured coaches in the country, most notably Jim Boeheim.
