The Long Beach State Beach will travel to the Stan Sheriff Center on Saturday night in a Big West Conference matchup against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. The Beach are 8-9 (2-3) so far this season and are coming off a 77-58 home win on Thursday against the Cal Poly Mustangs. The Rainbow Warriors are 12-4 (3-1) right now and are coming off a 79-72 overtime road loss against the Cal State Fullerton Titans on Saturday. These teams also play on February 18 in California so this will be an interesting matchup to look at. 

 

The Long Beach State Beach have been playing well and were able to pick up a 77-58 home victory against the Cal Poly Mustangs. They dominated in the first half as they outscored Cal Poly 36-21. They shot the ball well as they were 27-of-57 (47.4 percent) overall, 6-of-19 (31.6 percent) from three, and 25 free-throw attempts. Freshman guard AJ George led the team as in 29 minutes he finished with 15 points, three rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Defensively, they need to defend better against the three as they allowed 34.5 percent from the floor and 38.5 from deep here. The Beach did extremely well as they finished with 10 steals and four blocks throughout the game. 

The Long Beach State Beach are doing well this season as they are 101st in the nation with 75.7 po ints per game thus far and shooting 45.8 percent from the floor and are averaging 15.1 assists per game. Defensively, they are giving up 72.6 points per game, which is 268th in the country. They did a good job here with three blocks and eight steals per game thus far.
