LIU at St. John's – 11/29/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The LIU Sharks and St. John’s Red Storm face off on Tuesday in a college basketball showdown at Carnesecca Arena. This is the first meeting between the two teams in recent years. 

LIU comes into this game with a 1-4 record and they have gone 1-2 against the spread. In the last game against Northern Illinois, the defense was awful giving up 86 points. The defense gave up 50 points in the first half, and they couldn’t ever bounce back. R.J. Greene was the top offensive team player for LIU scoring 14 points. The Sharks on the season are averaging 67.2 points while their defense is giving up 77.6 points per game. Guard Marko Maletic has been the top player for LIU this season averaging 15. 8 points while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from behind the three-point line. 

On the other side of this matchup is St. John’s who sits with a 7-0 record and they have gone 4-3 against the spread. In the last game against Niagara, the offense scored 78 points. And that was enough to win by eight points. Two games ago against Syracuse, the St. John’s Red Storm were able to secure the 76-69 victory. The Red Storm are averaging 81.9 points while their defense is giving up 67.9 points per game. Forward David Jones has been the top player for St. John’s this season averaging 16.1 points while shooting 40.2 percent from the field and 32.7 percent from behind the three-point line.
