The Gunners' first goal came in the 20th minute as newcomer Oleksandr Zinchenko headed a Bukayo Saka corner to Gabriel Martinelli for the short-range header finish. Saka was involved in the second-half goal as well when his shot ricocheted off Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi for an own goal.
Leicester City opened the EPL campaign at home Aug. 7 with a 2-2 draw against Brentwood despite leading 2-0 early in the second half. The match-tying goal was surrendered with just four minutes remaining. Timothy Castagne and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored for LC.
