Las Vegas Raiders vs. Tennessee Titans Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 9-25-2022

A pair of winless AFC teams looking to put the first couple weeks of the season behind them as they clash in the Music City. The Las Vegas Raiders are on the road as they make the trip to face the Tennessee Titans Sunday afternoon. Las Vegas blew a 20-0 halftime lead as they were upended in overtime at home by Arizona, losing 29-23 last Sunday in their previous contest. Tennessee was blown out on Monday Night Football as they were steamrolled 41-7 by the Bills on the road. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Raiders own a 26-21 advantage, though the Titans picked up a 42-21 victory on the road when the Raiders were still in Oakland on December 8, 2019 in the most recent matchup.

Las Vegas had Arizona on the ropes for three-plus quarters in their previous contest but let the game slip away before falling in overtime. The Raiders dropped to 0-2 on the season with the loss and they find themselves in dire straits as the lone team in the AFC West with no wins on the books. Against Arizona, Las Vegas led 20-0 at the half and 23-7 after three quarters before things unraveled. The Raiders still led with under nine minutes to play before giving up a pair of touchdown drives and two-point conversions to tie the game with no time remaining. Las Vegas had a chance in overtime but Hunter Renfrow fumbled and Arizona ran it back for the game-winning score. The Raiders were outgained 413-324 in total offense, gave up 28 first downs while picking up 20 and lost the time of possession by a 36:22 to 29:47 margin. Both teams turned the ball over once though the Raiders’ miscue did their chances at victory in after leading most of the way.

For the season, the Raiders are 11th in the league in passing offense with 250 yards per contest while they are 30th in rushing offense by averaging 72 yards per contest. Las Vegas is 13th in scoring offense as they average 21 points per contest while they are 25th in scoring defense as they allow 26.5 points per game. Derek Carr is 47 of 76 passing for 547 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions this season. He has been sacked six times while adding nine yards on the ground. Josh Jacobs (29 carries, 126 yards, two TD) has handled almost all the work in the run game while Brandon Bolden (three carries, seven yards) and Zamir White (one carry, two yards) are next up in that department. Davante Adams leads the team with 12 receptions for 153 yards plus two scores in his first season since coming over from Green Bay. Tight end Darren Waller (10 catches, 129 yards, TD), Mack Hol lins (six receptions, 82 yards) and Hunter Renfrow (10 grabs, 80 yards) have been involved in the passing game early on. Daniel Carlson is three of three on extra points and five of five on field goal attempts with a long of 55 this season.
