Las Vegas Raiders vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-6-2022

The Las Vegas Raiders will look to get back on track this week as they travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars Sunday. The Raiders are a disappointing 2-5 while the Jaguars are 2-6. The Raiders have won the last three out of four matchups, but the Jaguars won the last meeting in 2019 by the score of 20-16 as a 7 point underdog. The Raiders are 1.5 point favorites in this game.

Things are not going so well in Las Vegas for the Raiders. There was a lot of high expectations for the Raiders with a new head coach, Josh McDaniels, a new star receiver, Davante Adams, joining a team that was 10-7 last year. But the Raiders have struggled mightily as they are 2-5 on the season, and those struggles were on full display last Sunday as the Raiders had their worst game of the season, losing at New Orleans 24-0. This was a complete and total beatdown, as the Saints gained 367 total yards and gave up only 183 yards to the Raiders. Derek Carr threw for only 101 yards.

And this was against a Saints team that came in at 2-5, with a backup quarterback under center in Andy Dalton. The loss put McDaniels squarely on the hot seat, at least among fans. But owner Mark Davis came out in support of his coach. “Josh McDaniels is our head coach and will be for years to come,” Davis said, reported CBS Sports. We'll see if this vote of confidence has an impact this week, where the Raiders really face a must-win situation. They are playing on the road, but against a very beatable team in the Jags. The Raiders average 23.3 points per game, which ranks 23rd in the NFL. The defense gives up 24.9 points per game, which ranks 25th in the league.
