Lakers at Nets Prediction – NBA Picks 1/30/23

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets collide at the Barclays Center on Monday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their last seven games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after falling just short to the Celtics in a heartbreaking 125-121 overtime road loss on Saturday. LeBron James led the team with 41 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, Anthony Davis added 16 points with 10 rebounds and four assists off the bench while Patrick Beverley chipped in with 15 points and five assists. As a team, the Lakers shot 44 percent from the field and 12 of 42 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Celtics in a tight contest until the last second of regulation where the referees missed an obvious foul which could have awarded the Lakers the game. Instead, the game went into overtime where the Celtics slipped away to snatch the game from them in the end.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in a slump of their own as they’ve lost six of their last nine games overall, but they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Knicks in a 122-115 home win on Saturday. Kyrie Irving led the team with 32 points and nine assists, Joe Harris added 16 points while Nic Claxton chipped in with 13 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Nets shot 52 percent from the field and 22 of 40 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Knicks from the start and poured in 62 points in the first half to take a 19-point lead, but they never put the Knicks away and had to hold off a late rally to escape with the narrow win.
