LA Tech at Missouri – 9/1/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will play the Missouri Tigers in a non-conference game at Faurot Field on Thursday night.

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs were 3-9 last season and lost seven out of their last eight games. The record was not good last year, but five of the losses came by one possession. The Bulldogs will have a new head coach this season, Sonny Cumbie, who came from Texas Tech. With this hire, we can expect the offense to be a very fast paced passing attack. The defense last season was not good, allowing 30+ points in nine of their last twelve games. There are a lot of question marks surrounding this Louisiana Tech team and I do not know if they will be much better than last season.

The Missouri Tigers were 6-7 last year and made it to the Armed Forces Bowl, where they lost 24-22 to Army. Missouri was able to beat up on the lesser teams that they played, but had trouble getting the big plays needed to beat a better opponent. The Missouri offense lost a lot of production from last season, leaving question marks at quarterback and running back. The wide receivers should do fine, but can they find a quarterback to get them the ball? On defense, the Tigers need to improve from where they were last year and were able to get a few transfers on that side of the ball. Missouri shouldn’t be any worse than they were last season, but can they find a playmaker or two that can make the plays needed to be competitive in the SEC?
