La Salle vs. St. Josephs Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-5-2023

The La Salle Explorers (9-13, 11-10-1 ATS, 11-11 O/U) collide with the St. Joseph’s Hawks (11-11, 13-9 ATS, 10-12 O/U) in an A10 battle on Sunday afternoon. The Explorers posted a home win against George Washington last time out. The Hawks earned a home win against Rhode Island in their previous action. St. Joseph's collected a 71-59 road win against La Salle last month.

The La Salle Explorers enter this one with confidence. La Salle snapped a rough five-game slide with a convincing 75-64 home win against George Washington on Wednesday night. They were marked as small two-point dogs in the victory and are now 3-6 in conference play. The other two A10 wins occurred against Rhode Island and UMass. The Explorers' offense has struggled in A10 play and they have covered the spread in three of their last four games.

Khalil Brantley is capable of big performances. The sophomore guard scored 29 points in the first meeting against Rhode Island and 19 in a win against Fordham. Brantley has recorded an average of 14.2 PPG on 39% shooting. Josh Nickelberry rebounded from a slump with 28 points in his last two games. The senior guard has not been able to find a groove, averaging 10.2 PPG on a poor 37% mark from the field. Jhamir Brickus scored 11 points in Wednesday’ s victory. The junior guard has been one of their better players, posting an average of 8.8 PPG on a stellar 43% efficiency from beyond the arc.

The Explorers are pegged 249th in DI in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and are 3-5 on the road including a win against UMass and a loss against Rhode Island last week. La Salle has reached 70 points in three of their last four games and is scoring an average of 68.4 points, ranking them 265th. They are conceding an average of 72.6 points, placing them 269th.
