For a moment, it looked like the New York Knicks may slip up and fall to the Indiana Pacers in the second round of these 2024 NBA playoffs. But a 121-91 win in Game 5 reminded the country why Jalen Brunson is an NBA Finals MVP odds contender.
With New York up 3-2 in the series, and Brunson looking dominant once again, the Knicks' NBA championship odds have shortened. However, it's Indiana that goes into Game 6 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis as a 5.5-point favorite with tipoff set for Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET (ESPN).

Knicks vs. Pacers prop bet predictions for Friday
Shame on me. I had ridden with Brunson all postseason and after a few quieter games, I began to doubt him. But in Game 5, Brunson's foot seemed to be no issue at all while he made me look like a moron for betting the Under on his combined points and rebounds.
Not only did he top the 40.5 line, but he did it with his points alone, hanging 44 in Game 6. So here I am, doing the walk of shame back to the Brunson bandwagon after he put up his second-highest scoring total of the playoffs. The Pacers defense is the worst left in the postseason and has no answer for Brunson.
He's already had six performances of 39-plus points in his last nine playoff games. These -105 odds imply a 51.22% probability Brunson will hit the Over with a $10 bet paying out $19.52.

For as great of a mascot as the Energizer Bunny is, Energizer should seriously think about getting a deal done with Josh Hart. He brings enough energy to the hardwood to power a small country with his non-stop motor and brash playing style.
It's hard to find players that think every rebound belongs to them no matter what, but that's the way Hart plays. He's also been a consistent third option on offense for the Knicks, averaging 15.8 points in the playoffs to go with his 12.2 rebounds.
With Hart having topped 27.5 points and rebounds in four of five games against the Pacers, I'm backing him to do it once again. Indiana allowed the fourth-most points (22.5) and rebounds (8.02) to small forwards this season and these odds imply a 52.61% probability Hart hits the Over. A $10 bet pays out $19.01.

After both Caitlin Clark and Tyrese Haliburton led their respective sports in assists this past season, the Indiana guards have struggled to make the jump against better competition. Clark, who led women's college basketball in assists in 2023-24, made her WNBA debut for the Indiana Fever this week and had just three.
Meanwhile, Haliburton is putting up only 6.8 assists per game for the Pacers in the second round. He's had fewer than nine apples in four of five games this series and this New York defense could have OG Anunoby back in the lineup for Game 6, which will only make it tougher on Haliburton.
