When Tom Thibodeau hired Rick Brunson as an assistant coach, everyone laughed at the ploy to lure Jalen Brunson to the Big Apple. Sure, the Knicks were exposed for tampering, but who's laughing now? Brunson is the most exciting guard Gotham City has seen since Earl “The Pearl” Monroe, and he looks like the caped crusader capable of carrying the Knicks deep into the playoffs.
The 27-year-old has been an unstoppable force against the 76ers. He's averaging 34.4 points while producing three straight games of at least 39. I've taken the Over on his point total in the last two contests, and I'm not stopping now. The Brunson Burner is getting insane usage numbers (43.8 minutes, 29.6 field goals) and Philly can't stop him.

Watching Brunson and Maxey go back and forth in Game 5 was like watching Christian Bale as Batman and Heath Ledger as the Joker in “The Dark Knight.” Pure entertainment between two perfectly cast players and the most mesmerizing take on the series in decades.
After Brunson dropped 47 points and 10 assists in Game 4, Maxey said “hold my beer” before putting up 46 and nine while hitting the 3-point shot to keep Philly's season alive and force OT. His explosiveness and ability from beyond the arc have hurt a Knicks lineup with its best defenders in the frontcourt.
