Kent State comes in off a 72-65 road win over Buffalo in their previous contest Friday night, covering the line as a four-point favorite. Western Michigan was trounced 81-53 on the road by Northern Illinois in their previous game Saturday, failing to cover as a 3.5-point underdog in the game. The Golden Flashes ran their mark to 20-5 overall on the season and stand tied for the top spot in the conference with a 10-2 mark, leaving them even with Toledo. Against Buffalo, Kent State trailed 16-6 less than six minutes into the game before climbing within six at the half. The Golden Flashes trailed by six with 12:46 to play before going on an 11-2 run that put them up 52-49 with 9:22 remaining. They never trailed again en route to the win. Kent State shot 42.9% from the field, including seven of 22 from three-point range, and forced 21 turnovers to offset 17 of their own. Miryne Thomas led the Golden Flashes with 19 points in the win.
