Kent State, winners of three straight games and a record of 8-3, travel to El Paso, Texas to take on New Mexico State, 6-4 on the season, in the WestStar Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational on Wednesday. Kent State, out of the MAC, will play an additional tournament game on Thursday and will be off for the holidays until January 3rd. The Kent State Flash put the finishing touches on the home portion of their schedule for the year of 2022 with a dominant 106-56 win over Concord University on Sunday. The 100 points was the first time this season and the first time since November of 2021. They hit 50% of their 3pt shots and finished at 51% from the field during a stellar first half of play. All 11 Kent State players that entered the game scored at least six points in the win. Sincere Carry and Jalen Sullinger led the way with 16 points apiece. Carry added a game-high five assists in the game. They shot 58% for the game overall and held Concord to just 30% from the field overall and 21% from 3pt range.
