Kansas vs. Baylor Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-22-2022

The Baylor Bears (3-3, 1-2) will host the Kansas Jayhawks (5-2, 2-2) on Saturday in a Big 12 showdown. Baylor has won their last 12 head-to-head games against Kansas, covering the spread in the previous ten meetings. Last season Baylor won 45-7 as a 17-point home favorite.

Kansas came into the season with an over/under Vegas win total set at 2.5, and they have already surpassed that. The Jayhawks opened up with five straight wins taking down Tennessee Tech 56-10, West Virginia 55-42, Houston 48-30, Duke 35-27 and Iowa State 14-11. It's been a remarkable ride for the Jayhawks overall but they are now on a two game losing streak falling to TCU 38-31 and Oklahoma 52-42 in the last two games.

The offense is led by a rushing attack that is 23rd in the nation averaging 206.9 yards per game, and the passing attack is 77th with 231.9 yards per game. Quarterback Jalon Daniels has completed 66.7% of his passes with 11 touchdowns and one interception while also rushing for 335 yards on 53 carries with five touchdowns, but is now i njured. In Daniels place, Jason Bean has thrown four touchdown passes in each of the last two games picking up 262 passing yards against TCU and 265 against Oklahoma.

The Kansas defense is 70th allowing 145.7 yards on the ground, and 125th allowing 292.3 passing yards per game which ranks them 112th in total defense overall.
