Kansas State vs. West Virginia Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-19-2022

The West Virginia Mountaineers (4-6) will host the Kansas State Wildcats (7-3) on Saturday in a Big 12 matchup. Last season the Wildcats beat the Mountaineers 34-17 as a six-point favorite.

The Kansas State Wildcats are second in the Big 12, coming off a dominating 31-3 road win against Baylor last week. The Wildcats out gained the Bears 405 to 306 in total yards and won the turnover battle 2-0.

With two regular-season games remaining, the Wildcats are ranked No. 17 in the College Football Playoff Rankings. On defense, they are 49th allowing 362.5 total yards per game, ranking 51st against the past and 62nd against the run.

Kansas State is 15th in the nation rushing for 214.9 yards per game, led by Deuce Vaughn with 1,081 yards on 5.5 yards per attempt.

The Wildcats use two quarterbacks and are 104th throwing for 203.1 yards per game. Adrian Martinez is second on the team with 615 yards per game despite running for -2 yards last week. Martinez has a team-best 10 rushing touchdowns and has thrown six touchdowns against one interception. Will Howard is not the same rushing threat as Martinez but has thrown nine touchdowns and just one interception this season. Against Baylor, Howard completed 19 of 27 passes for three touchdowns and 196 yards, while Martinez went 7 for 8 with just 25 passing yards. Martinez is questionable for Saturday.
