The Kansas State Wildcats are on the road as they travel to face the #6 Texas Longhorns Tuesday night. Kansas State comes in off an 82-76 overtime win at home over West Virginia in their previous contest Saturday afternoon, covering as a one-point favorite. Texas slipped past Oklahoma, 70-69, on the road Saturday afternoon in their most recent game, though they failed to cover as 3.5-point favorites. In the all-time series between the teams, the Wildcats own a 23-21 edge, including a 66-65 road win in the most recent meeting on January 18, 2022. That snapped a five-game win streak for the Longhorns in the series.

Kansas State ran their win streak to six games as they took down West Virginia in overtime at home Saturday in their previous game. The Wildcats improved to 12-1 on the season and are 1-0 in the Big 12 this season heading into this game. Against West Virginia, Kansas State got off to a slow start, trailing 13-1 less than five minutes into the game. The Wildcats were down 11 at the half, used a 31-12 run to take a 52-44 lead midway through the second half and led by five with 3:30 to play in regulation only to wind up in overtime. Kansas State opened the extra session with six straight points and held the lead the rest of the way en route to the win. The Wildcats shot 42% from the field, including three of 16 from three-point range, lost the rebounding battle 50-36, missed 13 of 34 free throws and still won the game. Markquis Nowell led Kansas State with 23 points, 10 assists and seven steals in the win.

The Wildcats are averaging 75.6 points a game so far this season as they are above average offensively: they stand 119th in scoring offense. Kansas State is collecting 35.5 rebounds a night while dishing out an average of 18.5 assists (9th) per game. The Wildcats are above average on the defensive end, ranking 40th in the nation by allowing 62 points per contest.
