Kansas State vs. TCU Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 12-3-2022

TCU demolished Iowa State 62-14 at home to easily cover the 9.5-point spread and remain unbeaten. The all-time series between the schools is tied at eight wins apiece with the Horned Frogs taking a 38-28 win as a 3.5-point favorite at home in their meeting this season on October 22.

Kansas State won their third straight game as they took down Kansas to earn their spot in the Big 12 title game. The Wildcats enter this game 9-3 overall and they finished 7-2 in the Big 12 on the season after the victory. Against Kansas, Kansas State jumped to a 23-7 lead after the opening quarter and never led the Jayhawks closer than nine the rest of the way. Kansas State owned a 443-307 edge in total offense, forced two turnovers while committing one and recorded a safety in the win. Those numbers helped overcome that the first downs were even at 20 while the Wildcats lost the time of possession by a 31:00 to 29:00 margin in the contest.

The Wildcats enter this game 94th in the nation in passing offense as they average 211.5 yards per game while they are 17th in rushing offense with 210 yards per contest. Kansas State is 34th in the FBS in scoring offense with an average of 33.4 points per contest while they are a solid 14th in scoring defense by surrendering 19.4 points per game. Adrian Martinez is 118 of 184 passing for 1,261 yards with six touchdowns and one interception while adding 615 yards plus 10 scores on the ground. Will Howard is 83 of 132 passing for 1,224 yards with 13 touchdowns against two interceptions while contributing 48 yards and two scores on the ground. Jake Rubley is four of five for 42 yards with an interception. Deuce Vaughn is the lead back as he has piled up 245 carries for 1,295 yards and seven scores this season. DJ Giddens adds 74 carries for 422 yards and six scores on the year as the second back. Vaughn is second on the team with 40 receptions for 348 yards and three scores. Phillip Brooks (35 catches, 495 yards, four TD), Malik Knowles (team-high 46 grabs, 679 yards, two TD), Kade Warner (36 receptions, 386 yards, five TD) and Ben Sinnott (26 receptions, 367 yards, three TD) have each gone over th e 300-yard mark this season. Ty Zentner has hit all 25 extra point attempts and eight of eight field goal tries with a long of 53 this season. Chris Tennant has hit 23 of 25 extra point attempts and nine of 14 field goal tries with a long of 37.
