Kansas State vs. Oklahoma Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-14-2023

No. 12 Kansas State will be on the road for the second straight game when it plays at Oklahoma on Tuesday night. The Wildcats have lost three of their last four games, including a 71-63 setback at Texas Tech on Saturday. Oklahoma has dropped seven of its last eight contests and is riding a four-game losing streak.

Kansas State got off to an incredible start to the season, winning 15 of its first 16 games. The Wildcats went 4-0 to open conference play, beating then-No. 24 West Virginia, then-No. 6 Texas and then-No. 19 Baylor to establish themselves as a contender in the Big 12. They suffered their first loss at TCU, but they responded with wins over Kansas and Texas Tech. However, they have dropped four of their five Big 12 games since then, including a 71-63 setback in their rematch with the Red Raiders on Saturday. The Wildcats have dropped to fourth place in the standings, sitting one game back of Kansas and Baylor for second place.

They have been a decent offensive team this season, ranked No. 48 in KenPom’s efficiency ratings. Kansas State’s strength has been on the offensive glass, where it sits at No. 82 in offensive rebounding percentage. The Wildcats need to clean up their turnover issues though, as they are No. 273 in that category, despite having one of the most experienced rosters in the country. They are facing an Oklahoma defense that is No. 58 in adjusted efficiency. Senior forward Keyontae Johnson leads the Wildcats with 17.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, while senior guard Markquis Nowell is adding 16.9 points, 7.6 assists and 3.4 boards.
