The #7 Kansas State Wildcats are on the road as they make the in-state trip to face the #8 Kansas Jayhawks Tuesday night. Kansas State rolled to a 64-50 home win over Florida Saturday in their previous game, a matchup in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, covering the line as a four-point favorite in the game. Kansas took down Kentucky 77-68 on the road Saturday in their SEC/Big 12 Challenge tilt, winning outright as a three-point underdog. In the all-time series between the teams, the Jayhawks own a 125-58 advantage and have won seven of the last eight meetings though it was Kansas State taking a 83-82 overtime win at home in the first meeting this season on January 17.

Kansas State bounced back from a loss to Iowa State as they took down Florida at home in their previous game at home. The Wildcats improved to 18-3 overall and stand tied for the top spot in the Big 12 with Texas and Iowa State as all three teams own a 6-2 record in conference play. Against Florida, Kansas State scored the game’s first five points and led the rest of the way. The Wildcats were up 37-16 at the half and never led the Gators closer than 11 in the second half en route to the victory. Kansas State shot 37.7% from the field, including four of 17 from three-point range, controlled the boards by a 49-36 margin and limited Florida to 31% shooting in the game. Keyontae Johnson (11 rebounds) and Markquis Nowell (nine rebounds, eight assists) each had 13 points to lead the team in the win.

The Wildcats are averaging 77.1 points a game so far this season as they are above average offensiv ely: they stand 60th in scoring offense. Kansas State is collecting 35.8 rebounds a night while dishing out an average of 17.7 assists (7th) per game.
