The Royals seemingly have begun their winter vacation before the season actually has ended. The Royals slipped into last place in the AL Central after being swept by the Detroit Tigers this week. They limped into Cleveland to face a red-hot Guardians squad on Friday night. After jumping out to a 3-0 lead through 4 1/2 innings with red-hot starter Brady Singer on the mound, things looked good for KC. The wheel fell off in a five-run Guardians' sixth inning and the Royals have now dropped four straight games and remain in last place.

The Royals will gladly have the season come to an end now so the team can look fondly at the development of some of their young talent like AJ Melendez and Bobby Witt Jr. Unfortunately, it hasn't quite ended and the Royals seem to be fading into the final days of the season. On the mound on Saturday night will be left-hander Kris Bubic. Bubic has just two wins in fifteen decisions this season. Bubic is 0-4 in his last five starts with an ERA of 6.57 while allowing 33 hits in 24.2 innings.
