The Kansas City Royals will continue their road trip in Chicago, IL on Wednesday afternoon for a matchup with the Chicago White Sox. Kansas City is 21 games under .500 on the year riding a two game win streak after a 2-1 win over Chicago in game 1 of this series. Daniel lynch had one of his best starts of the season allowing no runs on six hits across 5.1 innings of work leading to the victory. The Kansas City bullpen was lights out as well allowing only one run on four hits over the final 3.2 innings of the game.
Despite getting the win Kansas City struggled immensely from the plate with only six hits in 32 at bats as a team including 0-5 with runners in scoring position to leave four men on base. Will Merrifield and Salvador Perez led the way for the Kansas City offense as each player hit a solo home run.
