Kansas City (2-1 SU, 2-1 ATS) travels to New Jersey and MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Jets (1-2 SU, 1-2 ATS) on Sunday night at 8:20pmET.

This was supposed to be a marquee matchup of Patrick Mahomes against Aaron Rodgers (Achilles), but now will be Mahomes vs. Zach Wilson.

Kansas City came into last week's game against Chicago after scoring just 37 points in two games. They lost their opener against Detroit (21-20) and they escaped Jacksonville with a 17-9 win as a 3-point favorite on Sept. 17. They took out their frustrations last Sunday on the lowly Bears, who are going through some rough times on the field and off the field lately. After scoring just seven points in the first quarter, the Chiefs poured it on with 27 points in the second quarter and just cruised the rest of the way to a 41-10 victory. The only drama that came in the second half was whether TE Travis Kelce was going to catch a touchdown pass in front of his reported girlfriend Taylor Swift, who was in a suite with his mother.  Kelce did catch a touchdown pass in the middle of the third quarter and then Mahomes came out due to the game being out of control and him suffering an ankle injury in the first half.

Mahomes is used to playing in pain. He played with a high-ankle sprain in the Super Bowl and while this is the same ankle, it's considered a lower ankle sprain, which is less serious. Mahomes threw for 272 yards with three TDs and no picks against Chicago. Kelce led the team with seven catches for 69 yards, while rookie Rashee Rice added five catches for 59 yards. The defense completely contained Justin Fields and the Bears, who scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to avoid the shutout.

Overall, the Kansas City offense clicked against the Bears, but the Jets will pose a much tougher challenge. Mahomes has completed 65.5% of his passes for 803 yards with seven TDs and two picks. Running back Isaiah Pacheco adds 155 yards rushing (4.4ypc) with a TD. The problem is at wide receiver where other than Kelce, who missed the opener due to injury, they have little proven talent. Justin Watson, a journeyman who had 15 catches for 315 yards last se ason, has seven catches for 158 yards (22.6ypc) this season.

Defensively, the Chiefs are in good shape as long as DT Chris Jones plays. The All-Pro held out against Detroit and Kansas City lost. He came back and they've allowed 19 points over their last two games. Jones has been dealing with a groin injury and has been limited in practice this week. He should play but may be limited in terms of snaps. It's a small sample size, but the defense has been outstanding, allowing just 280.7 per game (7th), 178 passing yards (6th) and 102.7 rushing yards (11th).
