Kansas City Chiefs at Houston Texans – 12/18/22 NFL Picks and Prediction

The Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans face off on Sunday in an NFL showdown at NRG Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2020 it was the Chiefs that secured the 34-20 victory. 

Kansas City comes into this game with a 10-3 record and they have gone 3-9-1 away from home this season. In the last game against the Denver Broncos, the defense was awful giving up 28 points, but the offense scored 34 points and that led to the six-point victory. Patrick Mahomes completed 28 of his 42 passes for 352 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. The Chiefs are averaging 29.5 points while their defense is giving up 22.9 points per game. Mahomes on the season has thrown for 4,160 yards, 33 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Running back Isiah Pacheco is dealing with a shoulder injury, but it’s expected that he’s going to be able to go in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Texans who sit with a 1-11-1 record overall and they have gone 5-7-1 against the spread. In the last game against the Dallas Cowboys, they were competitive but ended up falling just short. Quarterback Davis Mills completed 16 of his 21 passes for 175 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. Dameon Pierce finished with 22 catches for 78 yards and a touchdown. The Texans are averaging 16.2 points while their defense is giving up 24.2 points per game.
