Justin Fields projections 2022: Fantasy stats, betting odds, Chicago Bears player profile, season outlook, simulations

Justin Fields didn't have a successful rookie year in Chicago and based on the Bears' moves this offseason, it's not looking like 2022 will be much better.

Coming off a season where he averaged barely over 150 passing yards per game and an additional 35 rushing yards, Fields lost his biggest receiving weapon, Allen Robinson to free agency (Rams) as well as his offensive-minded coach, Matt Nagy. With no offense meant towards new coach Matt Eberflus (former Colts DC), it's quite likely that the Bears will be picking high in the 2023 NFL Draft.

David Montgomery, who is a good but not spectacular NFL running back, is arguably the biggest weapon left on the offense. With no offense meant towards Darnell Mooney, Byron Pringle, rookie Velus Jones, Jr., and Cole Kmet, no NFL defense is trembling at the thought of facing those players. Fields just doesn't have a lot to work with.

In 12 games last season, Fields passed for seven scores and ran for two more. While those numbers can be expected to rise this season, 25 total touchdowns seems like an extreme ceiling for the second year pro from Ohio State. In dynasty leagues, there's some value here but it might be best avoiding the Bears QB in re-draft leagues.
