Love's first season as the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers couldn't have gone much better. He finished the year with 4,159 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, all while leading his team to a playoff win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Meanwhile, the last campaign was disappointing for Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. Though Hurts threw for 3,858 yards and 23 touchdowns, he also chucked 15 interceptions. Then center Jason Kelce retired after the team lost in the wild-card round. How much will Kelce's absence impact Hurts this season?

Hurts threw for fewer than 200 yards in four of his final five regular-season games last season. While he still put together four 300-plus-yard contests, the odds of him producing a massive game that serves as an outlier for the rest of the season are unlikely.
Love o nly tallied two 300-plus-yard passing games last campaign, but he also threw for at least 200 yards in all but three of his starts. He recorded at least 218 yards in every regular season game after Week 7.
Though Hurts has a higher ceiling than Love, he's more consistent. And if all else is equal, look at the defenses each quarterback is facing. The Eagles finished last year with the NFL's third-worst pass defense, while the Packers ranked 13th.
Love should cover this spread without much of a problem, all while contributing to Green Bay earning the upset as part of our Packers vs. Eagles prediction.

Love threw three touchdown passes in four of his final nine games last season. That includes his three-touchdown performance against the Cowboys during the postseason. Love also threw at least two touchdowns eight times throughout that stretch.

The Eagles allowed 2.1 passing touchdowns per game in 2023. That was the league's second-worst mark. If Love is entering this contest with a floor of two passing touchdowns, then why couldn't he throw three against a secondary that has yet to prove itself?

Another line that our best sports betting sites can't agree on is Hurts' pass attempts.
Four of the five best live betting sites are putting the number at 32.5, but every sportsbook except for FanDuel is asking -125 or more for the over. Bet365 is setting the total at 33.5, and it's still asking -125 to back the over. The value in placing a wager at FanDuel is clear.
Hurts attempted at least 33 passes nine times last season. The Eagles are favored in this game and Saquon Barkley is taking the field for the first time in a Philadelphia uniform. Those are two factors working against Hurts.
However, the sharp money is starting to shift the spread in favor of the Packers, so perhaps Green Bay will lead for some of this game. Hurts definitely hits this Over if that happens. And Hurts will need to throw even if the Eagles lead from wire-to-wire, as the game won't be a blowout.
