While announcing a four-year contract extension and seven-figure nnual raise for Jimbo Fisher in September 2021, Texas A&M athletics director Ross Bjork said the Aggies are “on the right track to building towards championship-level success.”
Since that comment, Texas A&M is 11-6 overall, 5-5 in the SEC, most recently getting blown out as a road underdog (+4 in college football betting) at Mississippi State in Week 5 of the 2022 season.
What Is Jimbo Fisher’s Contract?
Jimbo Fisher was introduced as Texas A&M head coach on Dec. 4, 2017, but didn’t officially sign the 10-year, $75-million contract until Aug. 17, 2018. The deal was fully guaranteed.
The four-year extension was approved by the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents on Sept. 1, 2021, and began in 2022 with a $9-million salary, which increases each year through 2031:
