Jets vs. 49ers MNF Parlay: Monday Night SGP Odds
Jets vs. 49ers MNF Parlay: Monday Night SGP Oddsiv class=”bodyContent col-lg-9 mb-3″>

Not quite a year to the day after Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon four plays into Monday Night Football, he's back for another go at leading the Jets.

In our Jets vs. 49ers MNF parlay based on the Monday Night Football odds, we like Rodgers' side to stay competitive against the defending NFC champs. But New York's defense should lead the charge in limiting the explosive Christian McCaffrey.

The 49ers enter this contest among the favorites in the Super Bowl odds, while the Jets are further down in long-shot territory.

SGP predictions for Jets vs. 49ers

This number being so low almost feels like a trap considering the vastly different seasons for these two franchises a year ago. But the defending Super Bowl runner-up has been laughably bad against the spread since 2000.

The hangover has perhaps contributed to 19 of the last 24 Super Bowl losers not covering the spread during Week 1 the following campaign. Couple that with an obvious reason to believe the Jets can improve upon their disappointing season with the return of Aaron Rodgers, and it feels like this trend will continue Monday night.

The 49ers endured a tumultuous summer of contract disputes that weren't resolved until the 11th hour. That could also factor into a sluggish start for their offense.

FanDuel is the only spot among our best sportsbooks to list the Jets with the hook from +4  to +4 .5, so it's our preference to play this SGP there to avoid a potential push.

After fears leading into last season that Breece Hall would need time to shake off the rust, he ended up serving as the offensive engine. One element of Hall's game that was especially explosive was his playmaking ability as a receiver.

Hall will play a role in Aaron Rodgers recording the most passing yards in the game, which Mike Spector projects in his Aaron Rodgers MNF player prop bets.

Hall grabbed 76 receptions on 95 targets as one of the NFL's most prolific receiving backs last season.

With a more capable deep passer back under center for the Jets, Hall might not get quite the same frequency of opportunities in the passing game. But New York would be foolish not to lean on that element of his skill set.

Hall posted eight games last year when he cleared 28.5 receiving yards, al l coming over his final 12 contests. I don't expect New York to wait so long to get him involved as a receiver this campaign. He'll be a capable safety valve for Rodgers on Monday.

Caesars lists Hall's receiving total at 27.5 yards, but with -127 odds on Over. We prefer the lines from DraftKings and FanDuel, with both at 28.5 yards and a reasonable -115 price.

Spector also likes Hall to score a touchdown in his Jets vs. 49ers prediction.

Editor's note: McCaffrey was ruled out for Week 1 with a calf/Achilles injury. The news broke roughly an hour before kickoff.

Christian McCaffrey is the NFL's most electric skill-position player. But the Jets' defensive front will look to key on him to keep the three-time All-Pro under a lofty total yardage mark that's risen throughout the morning on Monday at FanDuel.

McCaffrey cleared 113.5 scri mmage yards more often than he didn't a year ago. But he missed a lot of practice recently after an early-camp calf strain and is officially questionable for the game.

The rusher could easily produce a dud by his standards against an inspired Jets defense that will be looking to prove it's better than the inconsistencies of last season.

DraftKings is listing this parlay at +465, an improvement over the +435 odds at FanDuel. But as we stated above, the differential from Jets +4 to Jets +4.5 is worthy of our pursuit. Plus, we're gaining a bonus yard on this McCaffrey prop since DraftKings lists it at 112.5 yards.

A winning $10 wager on this parlay at FanDuel would lead to a profit of $43.50.

Phil Wood also thinks McCaffrey will struggle in his Christian McCaffrey MNF player prop bets.
