Jameis Winston projections 2022: Fantasy stats, betting odds, New Orleans Saints player profile, season outlook, simulations

The Saints may have a new coach (Dennis Allen) in 2022 but they're going back to their old QB, at least from 2021. Jameis Winston was mildly productive for the Saints before suffering a torn ACL against Tampa Bay in Week 8.'

While splitting time with Taysom Hill and despite having a disappointing receiving core to work with, Jameis managed to post 14 touchdown passes to only three interceptions last season. This year, the Saints welcome back former All Pro wide receiver Michael Th omas (hasn't played much since 2019) as well as adding veteran Jarvis Landry and first round draft pick Chris Olave to the mix.

Though dynamic running back Alvin Kamara might be suspended for the early part of the season due to an offseason incident in Las Vegas, Winston should have a long leash to succeed and plenty of offensive weapons at his disposal.

While he likely won't come close to the 5,100 passing yards he achieved in 2019 with the Buccaneers, his 33 touchdown passes might be a ceiling for fantasy owners to eye in 2022. Fortunately though, a repeat of the 30 interceptions thrown in '19 seems unlikely due to eye surgery several years ago and maturity.

Winston should safely be counted on as a QB2 in fantasy leagues with the potential for a handful of QB1 performances throughout the season.
