Jalen Hurts projections 2022: Fantasy stats, betting odds, Philadelphia Eagles player profile, season outlook, simulations

As starting quarterbacks go in the NFL, Jalen Hurts likely would be in the bottom tier when it comes to passing success. Even in college, he was never known as a deep passing threat but at least his NFL accuracy jumped from 52% in 2020 to 61.3% in 2021 as the Eagles' full-time starter. The former Alabama and Oklahoma QB hasn't had much to work with in terms of top flight receivers in his two seasons in Philadelphia. That changes in 2022, with budding superstar A.J. Brown having been acquired f rom Tennessee for a first round pick on draft night. Assuming he stays healthy, Hurts has no reason not to far exceed last season's 3,100 yards through the air.

The reason Philadelphia's starter has tremendous fantasy value is due to his rushing prowess. Last year, Hurts averaged more than 52 rushing yards per contest and scored ten times on the ground. While the touchdown total seems unlikely to be duplicated this season, 1,000 rushing yards isn't an impossibility. The Eagles ranked last in the league in 2021 in pass-to-run ratio at 50.13% meaning Hurts will likely scramble more than 100 times again this season.

If fantasy owners miss out on Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Justin Herbert, there's no reason that Hurts shouldn't be considered as high as the fourth quarterback off draft boards. A 3,500 yard passing season along with 800+ rushing yards and potentially 35 total TDs makes the Eagles QB a very high ceiling player at his position.'
