New Orleans faced the challenge of playing four out of its first six games on the road but is now returning home with an advantage on the short week.
In contrast, the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2) have been on a hot streak with three consecutive victories, propelling them into the top spot in the AFC South. Following back-to-back wins in London, England, the Jaguars came back to their home turf and secured a significant win against division-rival Indianapolis Colts in Week 6.
Quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who suff ered a knee injury late in the game against the Colts, practiced in a limited capacity on Tuesday and Wednesday and is listed as questionable for Thursday Night Football.

The Saints' defense is not to blame for the three losses in their last four games. New Orleans has allowed an average of 16 points per game during that four-game stretch, including a shutout performance against the New England Patriots in Week 5. The Saints have given up more than 20 points just once this season and they limited Houston Texans rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud to a season-low 199 passing yards during Sunday's 20-13 road loss.
It would be easy to think the Jaguars' offense finally broke out if you look at the final score of their 37-20 win over the Colts, but that simply wasn't the case. Jacksonville put up just 233 yards of total offense, collected only 17 first downs, and was ineffective in the run game, going for fewer than three yards per carry. Most of the Jags' points were set up by Indianapolis' 4 turnovers.
Jags quarterback Trevor Lawrence left the club's Week 6 game late in the fourth quarter with an apparent knee injury but was a limited participant in Tuesday's practice. Even if the signal-caller suits up on Thursday, his mobility – a big part of his game – will likely be hampered on a short week. That tight turnaround also won't help a Jaguars offense that's only had one home game since returning from two weeks in London.
New Orleans has recorded more than two touchdowns in a game once this season. The Saints failed to find paydirt on any of their three red-zone trips versus the Texans, and quarterback Derek Carr needed 50 pass attempts to come up with 353 passing yards. Seven of his completions were to running back Alvin Kamara for just 36 yards, indicating how conservative and methodical this attack is. Chris Olave has been one of the team's few bright spots; the 2nd year receiver amassed 414 yards through 6 weeks, rankin g 15th in receiving yards.
