It’s an interconference matchup on the gridiron as Doug Pederson leads his new team into the City of Brotherly Love to face his former squad. The Jacksonville Jaguars are on the road in week 4 of the NFL schedule as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday afternoon. Jacksonville rolled to a 38-10 win on the road over the Chargers last Sunday to earn their second consecutive victory. Philadelphia remained unbeaten on the season as they stifled Washington 24-8 last Sunday on the road. In the all-time regular season series between the franchises, the teams have split six meetings with the Eagles taking the last three, including a 24-18 road victory in the most recent matchup on October 18, 2018.

Jacksonville bounced back from a season-opening defeat as they have dispatched the Colts and Chargers in the last two weeks. The Jaguars improved to 2-1 on the year and sit atop the AFC South on the season entering this contest. Against the Chargers, Jacksonville broke open a scoreless game by outscoring the Chargers 16-7 in the second quarter to take the lead at the half, then held a 22-3 margin in the second half to roll to the victory. The Jaguars rolled up a 413-312 advantage in total offense, piled up 25 first downs while allowing 16, dominated time of possession by a 38:27 to 21:33 margin and forced the game’s only two turnovers.

On the season, Jacksonville is 11th in the league in passing offense with 252.3 yards per contest and 10th in rushing offense with 123.3 yards per game. The Jaguars are 7th in the league in scoring offense as they average 28 poi nts per contest and stand 4th in scoring defense by allowing 12.7 points per contest. Trevor Lawrence has completed 77 of 111 passes for 772 yards with six touchdowns and one interception on the year. He adds 22 yards on the ground. James Robinson leads the team in rushing with 51 carries for 230 yards plus three scores this season. Travis Etienne Jr. contributes 26 carries for 112 yards on the ground as well. In the passing game, Zay Jones leads the team with 19 receptions for 173 yards plus a score. Christian Kirk (18 grabs, 267 yards, three TD), Marvin Jones Jr. (11 receptions, 104 yards, TD) and tight end Evan Engram (12 catches, 83 yards) have been solid secondary options. Riley Patterson has hit all seven extra point attempts and seven of eight field goal attempts with a long of 52 this season.

Jacksonville had a fairly quiet injury report heading into the weekend. Jones did not practice Thursday due to an ankle injury while cornerback Shaquil l Griffin was limited with a hip injury that kept him out of action last week. The only other player listed was reserve offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen, who didn’t practice due to a hamstring injury.
