A pair of ranked Big 12 opponents do battle on the hardwood when they collide in the Lone Star State looking to pick up a victory. The #24 Iowa State Cyclones are on the road as they make the trip to take on the #19 TCU Horned Frogs Saturday afternoon. Iowa State was dropped 87-72 on the road by #20 BYU in their previous game Tuesday night, failing to cover the line as a 4.5-point underdog. TCU was dumped 81-77 on the road by Cincinnati in their previous contest Wednesday night, failing to cover the line as a three-point underdog. In the all-time series between the teams, the Cyclones own a 15-14 advantage and have won the last three meetings, including a 70-59 win at home in the most recent matchup on February 15, 2023.

Iowa State had won two straight and eight of nine before getting drubbed by #20 BYU on the road in their previous contest Wednesday night. The Cyclones fell to 13-4 overall and are part of the logjam tied for fifth in the AAC with a 2-2 conference mark. Against BYU, Iowa State was down as many as seven in the first half and was within four at halftime. The Cyclones got within two early in the second half before giving up an 8-0 run that left them down 49-39 with 15:41 remaining and couldn’t get closer than six the rest of the way. Iowa State shot 44.1% from the field, including four of 14 from three-point range, and missed nine of their 25 free throw attempts in the game. Keshon Gilbert led the Cyclones with 16 points in the loss.

The Cyclones are an excellent offensive team as they average 81.1 points per game, putting them 43rd on the season. Iowa State pulls down 36.4 boards a night (172nd) while dishing out an average of 17.6 assists (19th) per game on the year. Iowa State is below average at the free throw line as they shoot 70.2% as a team on the year.
