The Iowa State Cyclones (6-5; 6-5 ATS; 5-3 Conf.) are coming off a 26-16 defeat to No. 7 Texas in Week 12. They failed to cover a 7.5-point spread in front of the home audience while struggling mightily to carry the ball. The Cyclones had nine yards on 21 rushing attempts, while freshman signal-caller Rocco Becht threw for 323 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.

Iowa State couldn’t cope with CJ Baxter, who gained 117 yards on 20 carries for the Longhorns. The Cyclones made it a seven-point game with 12:44 to go in the fourth quarter thanks to Becht’s 66-yard TD pass to Easton Dean, but Texas shut down Iowa State down the stretch.

“They’re big and physical on the defensive line and their front six, front seven are outstanding,” Iowa State coach Matt Campbell said. “We knew that coming into the football game.”

The Cyclones are scoring 24.8 points per game (tied-81st in the nation). Their ground game has struggled for most of the season, and Iowa State is racking up 118.3 rushing yards per contest (108th) and 3.8 yards per carry (tied-99th). On the other side of the ball, the Cyclones are yielding 20.5 points per game (33rd) on 211.3 passing yards (44th) and 124.5 rushing yards (36th).
