There will be MAAC action on Friday night as the Iona Gaels travel to Buffalo, New York to take on the Canisius College Golden Griffins. Iona comes into this matchup with a record of 13-9 overall but a 9-3 record in the MAAC. Meanwhile, Canisius has struggled this year with a record of 5-17 including just 3-10 in conference play. The opening tap for this one is scheduled for 7:00 PM EST.

 

Iona comes into this matchup in second-place in the MAAC thus far with a record of 9-3. The Gaels are just a half-game back of streaking Rider and come into this game on a three-game winning streak. The Gaels have been off since Sunday, a game in which they downed Fairfield on the road, 70-61. The win completed a sweep of Fairfield in MAAC play this season. Nelly Junior Joseph and Daniss Jenkins led the way for Iona with 18 points each. Joseph also added a career-high 16 rebounds for his 11th double-double of the season.

Iona has the #1 scoring offense in the MAAC thus far this season. The Gaels are ninth in 3pt shooting this season in conference play. Iona has been extremely efficient with the basketball, ranking first in the conference in fewest turnovers per game. Defensively, Iona is ninth in scoring defense in the conference. The Gaels are, however, first in the conference in 3pt defense. Additionally, they are fourth in the conference in total rebounding.

Key Injuries: F Quinn Slazinski is out for the year. He averaged over 11 points per game and 5 1/2 rebounds.
