The Iona Gaels head upstate to Lewiston to face the Niagara Purple Eagles in Metro League play from the Gallagher Center. Iona leads the all-time series, 51-39, after winning three of the last four meetings. 

Iona improved to 17-7 after beating Canisius in Buffalo. Quinnipiac at home. The Gaels poured it on in the second half, and pulled away to defeat the Golden Griffins by 21 points. Iona scores 75.6 points per game, while allowing 66.4 ppg, and shooting 45.8% from the field.

Iona has won their last four games, and they’ve reasserted themselves atop the conference. The Gaels are 10-3 in MAAC play, with a 4-4 road record. Former Pacific guard Dariss Jenkins is thriving in New York, and he’s leading the team in scoring (15.7) and assists (4.8) after a solid outing in the win over Fairfield. Third-year starter Nelly Junior Joseph is the best rebounder in the conference, and after nine-straight double-doubles, he’s up to averages of 15.6 ppg and 9.3 rpg.
