Indiana vs. Northwestern Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-15-2023

The Northwestern Wildcats play host to the Indiana Hoosiers in an intriguing matchup from Welsh-Ryan Arena. Both teams have sprung upsets of Purdue over recent weeks and will want to keep their momentum going. The Hoosiers have won three in a row, while the Wildcats are riding the same winning streak into this one. The first matchup of the season went right down to the wire, as Northwestern came away with a one-point win on the road, though the Hoosiers will certainly have revenge on their mind in this one.

After another slow start to the Big Ten campaign, the Hoosiers have looked like one of the best teams in the Big Ten over the last handful of weeks. As mentioned earlier, they've won three in a row coming into this one, while having won eight of their last nine overall. The wins haven't come easy for this group, with the last three all coming by single digits, though there has to be something said for winning close games. Despite the recent run of success, the Hoosier still have a losing record in true road games this season, while having a loss to Northwestern already on their resume this season. It'll be a challenge for this group to find success in this one but with revenge on their mind, this remains a great opportunity for them to continue to build their resume.

The Hoosiers continue to navigate some key injuries, though it hasn't seemed to slow them down yet. Xavier Johnson (foot) remains out thr ough the end of the month, while Logan Duncomb (illness) joins him. As if that wasn't worrisome enough, Race Thompson (knee) is questionable, as one of their most experienced frontcourt players.

Indiana has been known for their defensive prowess but the offense has led the way of late. They rank 64th in scoring and are 6th in field-goal percentage. The more impressive ranking is that they are 19th nationally in three-point percentage, which should come in handy against a Northwestern team that has struggled to defend on the perimeter. On the defensive end, they remain stout as well and will like their chances against a struggling Northwestern offense. Trayce Jackson-Davis (20.2 ppg, 11.3 rpg) remains a likely first-team All-American and as long as he stays out of foul trouble, Indiana will like their chances to find success on the road on Wednesday.
