Indiana is now 10-3 on the season after three straight wins including a 100-87 win over Kennesaw State on Friday night. It was the first time this season that the Hoosiers hit the century mark but the 87 points were also the most points the team has allowed this season. Malike Reneau led the Hoosiers with a double-double of 34 points and 11 rebounds to lead six Hoosiers in double figures. The concerning part for Indiana and head coach Mike Woodson was the 17 3-point field goals the team allowed in the game to Kennesaw State.
“It was too much offense, and I'm talking from a defensive standpoint,” Woodson said after the game. “I don't mind us scoring 100 points, but giving up 87, you have to tip your hat to Kennesaw State. They shot the hell out of the 3-ball. We have to get that fixed.”
The Hoosiers come into this game with three straight wins to improve to 10-3 on the season. The Hoosiers are 95th in the nation in points per game this season. They are 22nd in field goal percentage but just 230th in 3-point shooting. The three-point shot is not a major part of the Hoosiers offense, with the team ranked 350th in 3-point field goals per game. On the defensive end, the Hoosiers are 196th in scoring defense. They are 93rd in opponent's field goal percentage and 249th in 3-point defense. The Hoosiers are 179th in total rebounding this season and 165th in turnovers per game.
