Indiana Pacers (12-10) vs. Portland Trail Blazers (11-11)

The Indiana Pacers continue their seven-game road trip Sunday, December 4, 2022, when they take on the Portland Trail Blazers at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, with the tip-off at 9:00 PM ET. These two cross-conference foes meet for the first time in 2022-23, and the Pacers aim for their second straight victory over the Trail Blazers.

Indiana misses Chris Duarte (ankle) and Daniel Theis (knee). On the other side, Portland is without Gary Payton II (conditioning) and Nassir Little (hip), while Damian Lillard (calf), Josh Hart (ankle), and Drew Eubanks (hip) are all questionable to play.

The Indiana Pacers (12-10; 13-9 ATS) have dropped two games in a row, surrendering a ton of points in the process. After a lopsided 137-114 defeat at the Sacramento Kings, the Pacers suffered a heavy 139-119 loss at the Utah Jazz this past Friday. Indiana allowed the Jazz to score at will, and Utah pulled off late in the second quarter thanks to a 17-0 run.

The Pacers shot 43.5% from the field and 12-for-34 from downtown at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City. Seven players scored in double figures including Myles Turner, who had 18 points and four rebounds. Rookie Andrew Nembhard posted a double-double of 13 points and ten assists, while Tyrese Haliburton added 14 points, six rebounds, and four dishes.

“We’re not playing with the right intentions and we’re not m oving the ball,” coach Rick Carlisle said. “The things that have gotten us to the point where we’ve been a surprise team and second in the league in passes — those things failed us tonight.”

The Pacers are scoring 112.6 points per 100 possessions (tied-14th in the NBA). They rank 26th in field goal percentage (44.9%), 14th in 3-point percentage (35.7%), fifth in assists per game (27.9), and 23rd in turnovers per game (15.7). The Pacers are allowing 113.3 points per 100 possessions (tied-19th) on 46.9% shooting from the field (15th) and 36.9% from downtown (24th).
