The Indiana Pacers will try to build off a successful four-game homestand when they travel to Charlotte on Wednesday night. Indiana won three of its four games during the homestand, including a 118-104 win over the Raptors on Saturday. Charlotte snapped its eight-game losing streak with a 112-105 win at Orlando on Monday.
Indiana got off to a slow start this season, losing four of its first five games. The Pacers have responded by winning five of their seven games since then, including three out of four in their recent homestand. They opened with a pair of wins over Miami and New Orleans before losing to Denver by three points last Wednesday. Indiana bounced back with a 118-104 win over Toronto on Saturday to close out the homestand, as Buddy Hield led the way with 22 points. The Pacers have surprised the NBA with their solid start to the season, and they are playing at the second-fastest tempo in the league.

They have also been firing up 3-pointers at a high rate, sitting just behind the Warriors and Celtics in attempts and makes from the perimeter. Their 3-point rate has jumped from No. 15 last year to No. 4 this year, which is the second-biggest jump in the NBA. They outscored New Orleans and Toronto by 60 points from 3-point range last week, with five different players make at least five triples across those two wins. Point guard Tyrese Haliburton is off to a phenomenal start, averaging 20.5 points and an NBA-best 10.3 assists per game. Rookie guard Bennedict Mathurin is the second-leading scorer with 19.9 points per game off the bench. Hield is adding 18.8 points, while Myles Turner is chipping in 17.9 points and 8.7 rebounds to give Indiana an extremely balanced lineup. They rank third in the NBA in scoring (117.3) and will be facing a Charlotte defense that is No. 18 (114.1).
