The Indiana Pacers pay a visit to the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on Monday night.
The Indiana Pacers will be looking to build some momentum after snapping a two-game skid with a 124-115 win over the Pistons on Saturday. Bennedict Mathurin led the team with 27 points on 10 of 18 shooting off the bench, Tyrese Haliburton added 24 points with 10 assists and five steals while Jalen Smith chipped in with 19 points and 15 rebounds. As a team, the Pacers shot just 43 percent from the field and 16 of 42 from the 3-point line as they got off to a sloppy start and had to claw their way back from a 14-point deficit after leaking 35 points in the first quarter. Buddy Hield had a quiet night as he scored just six points on two of eight shooting while Chris Duarte scored just nine points on three of 14 shooting off the bench.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers are still hoping to grab their first win of the season after getting beaten by the rebuilding Spurs in a 114-105 home loss on Saturday. Joel Embiid led the team with 40 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks, Tyrese Maxey added 25 points with six assists while James Harden tallied 12 points with nine rebounds and 12 assists. As a team, the 76ers shot 44 percent from the field and 10 of 31 from the 3-point line, but their defense wasn’t good enough as they allowed 35 points in the second quarter and another 60 points in the second half. The 76ers got next to nothing from their bench players who combined for just 10 points.
