The Indiana Pacers and the Houston Rockets collide at the Toyota Center on Friday night.
The Indiana Pacers have been in fine form as they’ve won six of their past eight games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after routing the Hornets in a 125-113 road win on Wednesday. Tyrese Haliburton led the way with 22 points and 11 assists on nine of 15 shooting, Myles Turner and Benedict Mathurin each scored 20 points while Buddy Hield chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 53 percent from the field and 11 of 28 from the 3-point line as they struggled to pull away from the pesky Hornets until the fourth quarter where they exploded for 35 points to pull away and win comfortably in the end.
Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost 12 of their first 15 games overall, but they will be eager to build some momentum after taking down the Mavericks in a 101-92 upset road win on Wednesday. Kevin Porter Jr. racked up 17 points with 11 rebounds and eight assists, Jalen Green added 17 points with six assists while Alperen Sengun chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Rockets shot 46 percent from the field and 10 of 22 from the 3-point line, but this win was about their defense as they held the Mavericks to just 30 percent shooting from the field and 12 of 55 from the 3-point line. To be fair, the Mavericks were shorthanded as they were without their superstar Luka Doncic.
