Indiana at Nebraska – 10/1/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Indiana Hoosiers and Nebraska Cornhuskers face off on Saturday in a Week 5 college football showdown at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. When these two teams last faced off in 2019 it was Indiana that secured the 38-35 victory.

Nebraska comes into this game with a 1-3 record and this already feels like a lost season for a team that thought they could win the Big Ten West heading into the season. In the last game against the Oklahoma Sooners, the defense was awful giving up 49 points and that led to the blowout defeat. Under center for Nebraska is Casey Thompson and in the last game he completed 14 of his 20 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown. Nebraska is averaging 30.5 points while their defense is giving up 35.5 points per game.

On the other side of this matchup is Indiana who sits with a 3-1 record overall but the one loss was a bad one in their last game against Cincinnati. The defense was awful giving up 45 points and that led to the 21-point defeat. Under center for Indiana is Connor Bazelak and in the last game, he completed 31 of his 66 passes for 280 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Shaun Shivers had 19 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown. Indiana is averaging 28.8 points while their defense is giving up 29.3 points per game. In this game the Hoosiers need the defense to be strong.
